He completed his medical degree and MD in Ain Shams University, Egypt, and obtained two fellowships of Peripheral Endovascular Intervention and Brunkwal Cologne Aortic Grafting, Germany. Additionally, Dr. Okelah is the co-founder of the Emirates Vascular Surgery Society and was elected general secretary of the Emirates Vascular Surgery Society.

Prof. Mert Dumantepe conducted a fellowship in the field of Chronic Thromboembolic Pulmonary Hypertension and Pulmonary Endarterectomy program, and Heart Transplantation and Mechanical Asist Device program from University of California, San Diego School of Medicine, USA in 2015 until 2016. He is the general secretary of the Turkish Society of Cardiovascular Surgery - Pulmonary Vascular Disease and Pulmonary Hypertension working group.In Prof. Mert Dumantepe’s professional career, he has focused on extensive work with venous thromboembolic disease, particularly on catheter directed thrombolysis in intermediate and high-risk pulmonary embolism.Prof. Dumantepe's research interest is optimizing the therapeutic management of patients with massive pulmonary embolism and endovascular treatment of acute and chronic deep vein thrombosis. Professor Sergio Gianesini is a surgeon of the University of Ferrara, ITALY, where he holds an associate professorship in vascular surgery Italian habilitation. He is also adjunct associate professor at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences, in Bethesda, USA. Dr. Sergio Gianesini is president of the venous-lymphatics World International Network (vWIN) foundation ONLUS, International Union of Phlebology UIP vice-president, board of directors’ member of the American Vein Lymphatic Society. Dr Gianesini has a PhD in Vascular System Molecular Patho-physiology. In addition, he is an Invited Professor and General Director for Non-invasive diagnostic course for UCES University in Argentina, and an instructor in Venous Hemodynamics. He is frequently requested to speak at international meetings on phlebology and lymphology. Active in several societies, Dr Gianesini is the International Committee Chair for the American Vein & Lymphatic Society. Dr Gianesini is a member of three operative committees of the American Venous Forum, and a member of the coordination committee on Lymphology for the Italian Society of Phlebology. He is an honorary member of the Brazilian Society of Phlebology and of the Mexican Venous Forum. Dr. Gianesini has authored numerous scientific papers, and a number of books and guidelines on the venous and lymphatic topic. His novel research into tissue engineering of blood vessels between Manchester Royal Infirmary and Royal Free Hospital, London, earned him a Doctorate of Medicine (MD) from the University of Manchester. He also received a Master’s Degree with merit in Business Administration from the Alliance Manchester Business School.Since moving to the UAE, Dr. Baguneid has helped shape diabetic foot services and advanced vascular surgery in the region. He has published and presented widely on many aspects of vascular surgery including oncovascular surgery. Dr. Baguneid provides support to regional surgical oncology teams and has taught many consultants to perform a wide range of complex vascular treatments. In addition, he trains surgeons in the art of managing vascular trauma in international workshops and conferences.As a clinical leader, Dr. Baguneid has held many senior leadership roles in the UK and the UAE. Shortly after becoming a consultant, he was appointed Clinical Director of Vascular Surgery at University Teaching Hospital in Manchester and was involved in the reconfiguration of regional vascular services. Later on, he was appointed as Medical Director of a large service transformation program in the UK. Dr. Lichtenberg earned his medical degree from the Heinrich-Heine Medical University of Dusseldorf, and also studied at the Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana and the Texas Heart Institute in Houston, Texas. As esteemed Interventional Angiologist with 20 years of experience in endovascular interventions, Dr. Lichtenberg was elected to serve as Managing Director of the German Society for Angiology in 2017. For the period 2020-2022 he was the society’s PresidentDr. Lichtenberg’s areas of clinical interest include deep venous intervention, peripheral artery disease, peripheral thrombosis and atherosclerosis. In addition to his day-to-day work in interventional care, his main interest is the evaluation of new devices, techniques and procedures for intervention of peripheral artery disease. Dr. Houssam Younes, MD, is the Chairman of the Department of Vascular Surgery in the Heart & Vascular Institute at Cleveland Clinic in Abu Dhabi. He is also a Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University. Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Younes worked as a vascular surgeon and an assistant professor at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, USA. During his tenure, he treated a wide spectrum of complex vascular diseases, utilizing new minimally invasive endovascular surgery technologies including image-guided and catheter-based therapies, and traditional open surgery techniques. Dr. Younes also served as a teaching faculty at the medical school and the general and vascular surgery residency programs. Dr. Younes received his medical degree from Istanbul University, Cerrahpasa Medical Faculty in Istanbul, Turkey. He then completed his surgical training at Baylor College of Medicine and the University of Texas Medical Branch. He later completed a Vascular Surgery fellowship at Houston Methodist DeBakey Heart & Vascular Center. Dr. Younes’ clinical interest is in limb salvage therapies and hybrid procedures, which extend the range of vascular diseases treated and expand the patient population, which will benefit from minimally invasive surgery. His research interests include limb salvage, dialysis access and endovascular surgery outcomes. Dr. Younes has presented multiple national presentations and authored numerous published articles.

Dr. Sulaiman Al Shamsi was working at Royal hospital in Muscat, Oman as a senior consultant vascular and Endovascular surgeon since January 2012. He then became the head of the department of General Surgery from August 2017 until March 2020. Dr. Sulaiman Al Shamsi graduated from the medical school of Sultan Qaboos University in 1996, followed by one year of internships between Royal Hospital and Sultan Qaboos University Hospital. He continued the rest of the program at Limoges University under the supervision of Mar Laskar and obtained his DESC in vascular surgery in 2011. Dr. Sulaiman Al Shamsi then moved back to Oman and started as a Vascular Surgeon up until March 2020. He was a member of education committee, Oman medical specialty board (OMSB), member of curriculum subcommittee, exam subcommittee, member of scholarship in OMSB and member in higher national scholarship committee until March 2020. He was the overall coordinator of juniors and senior’s medical students and the affiliated tutor for teaching and examination in Sultan Qaboos university. Dr. Sulaiman Al Shamsi joined Al Ain hospital on May 2020 as Consultant Vascular Surgeon until September 2020, when the vascular service moved to TAWAM Hospital. He is currently working in same position at TAWAM Hospital.

Dr. Binkhamis is obtained his Medical Degree from King Saud University in 2003. This was followed by Residency in Diagnostic Radiology at McGill University in Montreal, Canada from 2005-2010 and Fellowship training in Musculoskeletal, Adult and Pediatric Vascular & Interventional Radiology at the Universities of Ottawa and Toronto, Canada from 2010-2012. He has been a Consultant Radiologist since 2012. Since his return in late 2012, he was appointed as the Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program Director at King Saud University Medical City in Riyadh as well as the division head of Vascular and Interventional Radiology. He is currently a Consultant and the head of Interventional Radiology at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Riyadh as well as the former fellowship director.Dr. Binkhamis is proactive in several research projects mainly related to Peripheral Vascular Disease in Saudi Arabia and has several peer-reviewed publications as well as regional and international presentations related to Musculoskeletal and Interventional Radiology. His main academic interests are Arterial and Venous Disease, Interventional Oncology and innovative techniques such as advanced Endovascular Aortic Repair and lymphatic Interventions.

Dr. Al-Attab is currently serving as a Senior Vascular Surgery Consultant at King Fahad Medical City in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.Educationally, Dr. Al-Attab has a rich background with a Master's Degree in General Surgery obtained in 2003 and an M.B.B.S. Degree in Medicine and Surgery from the Faculty of Medicine/University of Baghdad, Iraq, which he received in 2000. He furthered his professional qualifications with an Arabic Board in General Surgery in May 2008 and became a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland in November 2013. His commitment to advancing his expertise is evident in his recent fellowship in peripheral endovascular intervention from the University of Kiel, Germany, which he completed in September 2023.Dr. Al-Attab has held several notable positions, including the Head of Vascular Surgery Department and consultant vascular and endovascular surgeon at King Salman Heart Center, King Fahad medical city from January 2018 to October 2021. He also took on the leadership role in vascular surgery within the Second Health Cluster in Riyadh from June 2021 to 2022. In addition to his commitments in Saudi Arabia, he has been a consultant vascular and endovascular surgeon at Saudi Germany Hospital since March 2020.Married and of Yemeni nationality, Dr. Al-Attab's career is a testament to his dedication and skill in the realm of vascular and endovascular surgery, and his work continues to impact the lives of patients and the medical community in Saudi Arabia and beyond.
